Careers & Studio Rentals
Work from the house.
Two ways into the studio: a residency with us, or a private room by the day. Both start with the same form.
Two Paths
Residency or day use.
Artist residency
A permanent station at 59 Berkeley, full-time or part-time. You keep your own books and clients; we provide the room, the front-of-house, the sterilisation standards and the audience. We take on very few residents, and only when the work and the temperament both fit.
Studio room rental
A private, fully equipped room by the day for visiting and freelance artists — single days, a run of days, or a standing weekly slot. Ideal for guest spots, out-of-town artists and anyone who wants a calm room without a long lease.
What's Included
Everything but the machine.
Day rentals and residencies both include the following. Needles and ink are on us — bring your own machines, grips and any specialist products you work with.
The room

Frequently Asked
Common questions.
What are your day rates?
Rates depend on the room, the day of the week and whether you're booking a single day or a recurring slot. Send the form and we'll quote you directly.
How do residencies work commercially?
Residents work on an agreed arrangement — either a flat station rate or a percentage split, discussed openly when we meet. You keep your own clients and books either way.
Do I need my own clients?
For a day rental, yes — bring your own bookings. For a residency it helps, but we'll consider strong artists who are still building locally.
Can I do a guest spot from abroad?
Yes, we host visiting artists regularly. Make sure you're legally permitted to work in Canada and have valid certification before you book flights.
Is equipment provided?
The room, furniture, sterilisation and consumables are provided, plus all needles and ink — we stock top-of-the-line supplies from Maple Tattoo Supply. Bring your own machines, grips and any specialist products you use in your sessions.
