Aftercare
Care for your piece.
Healing is part of the work. Follow this timeline carefully — your tattoo will settle into your skin beautifully if you treat it with the same intention it was made with.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
Your artist will provide aftercare instructions specific to your tattoo, placement and bandage. Do not remove your wrap until instructed by your artist — some protective films may remain on for several days. Follow your artist’s aftercare directions after every session for the best healing results.
EARLY HEALING
Continue following your artist’s instructions for your wrap, washing and recommended aftercare products. Once the wrap is removed, keep the tattoo clean and apply only a thin layer of the recommended moisturizer or balm. Avoid soaking, swimming, saunas, direct sun, excessive sweating and unnecessary friction.
Peeling phase
Light flaking, peeling and itching are a normal part of healing. Let the skin shed naturally — never pull at flakes or scabs. Continue washing gently and switch to a light, fragrance-free moisturizer as needed. Avoid soaking the tattoo and keep it protected from the sun.
Settle in
The surface may appear healed, but the deeper layers of skin are still recovering. Continue moisturizing and avoid prolonged sun exposure, excessive friction and anything that irritates the area. Healing time varies depending on the tattoo, placement and your skin.
Long-term care
Once your tattoo is completely healed, use SPF 30–50 whenever it is exposed to the sun. Keep your skin moisturized and hydrated. Proper long-term care helps preserve the detail, contrast and longevity of your tattoo.
